The Federal Government will grant the Rita Cetina scholarship to 245,000 secondary education students in Nuevo León, according to Esteban Nevárez García, coordinator of the Benito Juárez scholarship office in the state. This benefit is part of the policies promoted by Claudia Sheinbaum, president of the Republic, to support students and combat school dropout.
The registration process to apply for the scholarship began on November 11 and will be open until December 18. Interested parents must visit the corresponding website and complete the required documentation. Each beneficiary student will receive 1,900 pesos bimonthly for five bimonthly periods a year.
Nevárez García emphasized that the program will be implemented gradually, starting with secondary education in 2025, followed by primary education in 2026 and preschool in 2027. The scholarship will be universally extended to all children and youth in Nuevo León in two years.
The coordinator called on parents to be cautious when accessing the official website to avoid fraudulent pages. A high demand is expected given the number of eligible students in the entity. The goal is to ensure that no child is left without studying due to economic reasons.
The process of issuing payment cards and the distribution of resources is scheduled for March or April 2025. The Rita Cetina scholarship aims to financially support students from preschool to secondary education in public institutions in Nuevo León, in order to strengthen the educational system and promote continuity of studies.
