Road Crisis in Mexico Demands Urgent Attention

The president of the Commission on Communications and Transport, Víctor Pérez, pointed out the critical situation of the roads in Mexico, where nearly a million heavy-duty vehicles face problems due to the poor condition of the roads and insecurity. Pérez declared at a press conference in the Chamber of Deputies that 11 billion pesos allocated for roads this year were redirected to the construction of the Maya Train.

He highlighted the urgency of allocating a significant budget in 2025 for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the roads, with the aim of strengthening the transportation of goods in the country and preventing human losses. In this regard, Pérez demanded that more than 50 billion pesos be assigned in the 2025 budget for the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads in Mexico.

The federal deputy emphasized that in the last six years the road system has been neglected, which has led to considerable deterioration of the country's communication routes. This situation, according to Pérez, has led to complications in the transportation of goods and increased risks for road safety.
