Digital Transformation Agency Aims to Boost Tech in Mexico

The Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency aims to unify capabilities, technological autonomy, and republican austerity to develop a unique model in the world that will provide public technological solutions. According to José Antonio Peña Merino, the head of the Agency, the goal is to make life easier for Mexicans and prevent corruption in procedures, with Llave MX being a key project for the digitization of processes and technological advancement in the country.

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, president, emphasized the importance of public technology in Mexico allowing for easier access to people's rights. The Agency will be based on seven main points: making digital what is currently in person, reducing regulatory burden, promoting savings, eliminating corruption, offering a single attention number, strengthening public capacities through data intelligence, ensuring technological autonomy and information security, and recognizing the internet as a fundamental right.

Among the projects and focus areas of the Agency are Digital Transformation, Simplification of procedures, Digitization, Digital Identity, Wellness Attention Center, National Public Technology Center, Technological Assessment, Open Government, Public Digital Infrastructure, Software Factory, Cybersecurity, Mexican Space Program, Telecommunications Policy, Simplification and Digitization Law, and other initiatives aimed at reducing procedures, promoting economic prosperity, digitizing processes, and improving citizen attention through solution and attention mechanisms.
