The Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) has established in the School Calendar 2024-2025 the days of class suspension during the month of February, as well as other activities for teachers. The School Calendar defines the activities and the school year for students and teachers of preschool, primary, and secondary education.
With the start of 2025, a new school period also began after three weeks of vacation at the end of December and the beginning of January. In the first weeks of January, teachers participated in an intensive workshop for staff with management functions on Monday, January 6, so all teaching staff had to attend the corresponding activities, while classes were suspended for students.
In February, the School Calendar 2024-2025 establishes that on Monday, the 3rd, classes will be suspended at all levels of basic education in commemoration of February 5, the Day of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States. From Tuesday, February 4 to Friday, February 14, this period is reserved for the pre-registration of preschool, first grade of primary, and first grade of secondary for the school year 2025-2026. On Friday, February 28, the ordinary session of the Technical Council will take place, so classes will be suspended that day.
It is crucial to stay alert to the authorities, as low temperatures can cause class suspensions. In addition, an intensive workshop for teaching staff is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7, and Wednesday, February 8. At the end of January, Friday the 31st will be reserved for the ordinary session of the Technical Council, a meeting held at the end of each month.
