New Metrobús Station Inaugurated in Iztacalco

The new Metrobús station that has been inaugurated is the Calle 6 station of Line 4, located in the Iztacalco municipality, connecting the CETRAM Pantitlán with the Alameda Oriente. This station was created in response to the request of the neighbors of the Agrícola Pantitlán neighborhood on October 17th.

The head of the local government, Clara Brugada, has announced plans to transform the mentioned neighborhood. There are plans to resurface three avenues and to install 3,067 LED lamps of 250 watts to illuminate 303 streets. Additionally, Calle 2 and Avenida Norte will be converted into Safe and Free Women’s Paths to ensure safe spaces for women.

Clara Brugada has also revealed a project to build a new Utopia on a 10,000 square meter plot on Calle 4, where a brewery used to operate. This effort is part of the intention to strengthen the social infrastructure of the area.

The Casa por Casa program has been essential for listening to and addressing the requests of the neighbors, with the installation of the Metrobús station being an example of this. 86% of the 4,117 requests received have been addressed, including actions such as tree pruning, improvements in public lighting, pothole repairs, security interventions, and desilting work.

The mayor of Iztacalco, Lourdes Paz Reyes, has highlighted the importance of this new infrastructure for improving mobility in the area. This station will provide greater access to transportation and facilitate entry to the Pantitlán neighborhood, avoiding lengthy routes for local residents.
