Embroidery Photo and Creative Writing Workshop

Creative Muses is a project aimed at creating a community by connecting creative writing and reading with hands-on artistic activities such as embroidery, drawing, sculpture, and painting. This workshop is led by two passionate artists: Kristel González, a Mexican plastic artist who explores her identity through techniques such as watercolor and digital illustration, and María José Soto, a writer specialized in short stories and speculative genres, who uses literature as a means to heal and combat gender violence.

Located in Arboledas, Querétaro, Qro, at Calle Alfonso Cravioto number 175, Creative Muses is open to all individuals over 16 years old who wish to share, imagine, and create. The workshop consists of four sessions to be held on Thursdays, February 20 and 27, and March 6 and 13, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

During the workshop, participants will need to bring a significant photograph for them and will carry out writing exercises to explore and capture their memories in the form of a story, poem, narrative, or testimony. Additionally, they will learn embroidery techniques to decorate the image and visually complement their literary creation.

The participation fee for this workshop is $1,800 and includes all necessary materials, as well as an exhibition at the end to present the final works. Registration for this activity is already open, and for more information, they can reach out via the Instagram account @musascreativas.qro.

In the words of its creators: "Creative Muses is an independent space where literature merges with plastic, graphic arts, and crafts, with the aim of inspiring participants to express themselves creatively and share their stories through multiple artistic forms."
