Basic education students in Mexico will have the opportunity to enjoy three long weekends during the month of March, according to the official calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP). These additional rest dates provide Mexican families the chance to relax or travel, so it's important to keep in mind the exact days to plan ahead.
The first long weekend is scheduled for Monday, March 17, which coincides with the commemoration of Benito Juárez's birth. This break will run from Friday, March 14 to Monday, March 17, allowing students and workers to enjoy a three-day weekend.
The second long weekend will be Friday, March 21, due to the grading registration day, during which teachers carry out administrative processes and assessments without the presence of students.
The third long weekend, Friday, March 28, coincides with the meeting of the School Technical Council (CTE), where teachers and administrators analyze proposals and plan actions to improve the educational process.
According to the 2024-2025 school calendar of the SEP, the Easter holidays for basic education students in Mexico are scheduled from Monday, April 14 to Friday, April 25, 2025.
