More than 1200 couples took one of the most important steps in life by getting married in this year's collective weddings in Quintana Roo, during the celebrations of Valentine's Day, the day of love and friendship, held at Playa Delfines.

In Cancun, Mara Lezama witnessed the legal union of 351 couples in Cancun, as an honored witness alongside the honorary president of the DIF Quintana Roo System, Verónica Lezama Espinosa, and the municipal president of Benito Juárez, Ana Paty Peralta de la Peña, where the couples formalized their union before the law.

"This is not just any act; it is the consolidation of a commitment, the materialization of a dream, and the legal certainty that this love, which was born and grew over time, now becomes an indissoluble bond before society and the law," expressed the governor of Quintana Roo before the couples.

Thanks to my dear sister Vero, who from the DIF Quintana Roo System has been an tireless engine in building stronger and happier homes, noted the head of the Executive.

The honorary president of the DIF, Verónica Lezama Espinosa, highlighted that this act represents an important step, not just for them, but for the community in general, as families are the heart of the community.

In the collective weddings, Mara Lezama emphasized that with this act of love, the social fabric, the foundation of the community, is strengthened, and we know that well-being begins at home, in every family, in every household.

In the ceremony, led by the official of the Civil Registry of Benito Juárez, Mirley Castillo Pacheco, the oldest couple married was Jesú Medina Hernández, 70 years old, and Graciela Hernández Arias, 62 years old, and the same-sex couple, formed by Gloria Tec Nahuat and Aida Arcos Hernández.

After listening to the welcome from President Ana Paty Peralta and the ceremony that formalized the union, Governor Mara Lezama expressed her satisfaction regarding the collective weddings: "Today, we see here couples who have shared a whole life, others who have raised children, and even grandchildren, who have formed entire generations, and who today, in front of their families and loved ones, decide to reaffirm their commitment."

Likewise, she specified that collective weddings are more than a tradition; they are an act of social justice, equity, and recognition. On this day, 43 couples were married at the Cereso of this city.

"In our government, we firmly believe in shared well-being and prosperity."
