Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, announced that schools will be ready to receive students amid a sharp drop in temperatures. He noted that all educational institutions will be staffed, equipped with heating, and fully prepared. According to forecasts, temperatures could drop to -1 or -2 degrees Celsius on Monday night. Educational authorities have assured that all schools are prepared to welcome students and that all necessary measures will be taken to face the cold, including heating and staff availability. Classes will be held flexibly, and the decision to send children to school will be left to the parents' discretion. The National Meteorological Service reported that due to the advance of cold fronts and an arctic air mass, cold weather will persist across the country from January 26 to 30, 2026, especially in the north and northeast, including Nuevo León, where persistent winter conditions are expected at the beginning of the week.
