A tribute concert called Sirenas al Ataque aims to pay homage to the women who have made their mark on the music scene in Mexico. Among the figures remembered during the event are Rita Guerrero, Angélica Infante, Vianey Valdez, Las Hermanas Jimenez, Elba Laboriel, Angélica María, Julissa, Gloria Ríos, Betsy Pecanins, Leda Moreno, Hebe Rosell, and Las Mary Jets.
Throughout history, rock has been predominantly dominated by male figures, relegating women to the background and viewing them as delicate and sweet beings. However, this concert seeks to highlight the strength, capability, character, and struggle of Mexican rock women to pursue their dreams and ideals.
The event will feature live performances from nearly 50 artists on stage, including Bloody Benders, Las Rockylators, Nina Galindo, Baby Bátiz, Cecilia Toussaint, Las Ultrasónicas, Kenny y Los Eléctricos, Denise Gutiérrez, Elis Paprika, Sara Valenzuela, and Rosa Adame.
Sirenas al Ataque is scheduled for March 1 at 6:00 PM and will take place at the Monument to the Revolution.
