
The former América player, Miguel Layún, was announced as one of the new investors in the Shark Tank Mexico program. Known for his winning mentality and experience in the world of business and investment, Layún joins season 10 of the reality show alongside other prominent figures such as Amaury Vergara, president of Grupo Omnilife-Chivas.
During his career as a footballer, Layún played for teams such as Tiburones Rojos, Atalanta, Porto, and Monterrey, being the first Mexican to debut with a Serie A club in Italy and participating in the World Cups in Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018. After retiring in Apertura 2023 with América, Layún has successfully ventured into the business world.
One of Layún's most notable projects is Kings League Américas, a 7-a-side football competition inspired by the tournament created by Gerard Piqué. In addition, he is a co-founder of Café 19, an initiative that sells 100% Mexican instant coffee in collaboration with other footballers such as Iker Casillas, Héctor Herrera, and Diego Lainez.
Furthermore, Layún is a co-founder of 19esports, a sports entertainment company that aims to contribute to the Spanish-speaking competitive scene and promote gaming in the region. He also works as a content creator, with a podcast called We Are Brave and a sports analysis project called LAYV TIME.
