Closures on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway for maintenance

The Mexico-Cuernavaca highway will have closures for more than two weeks due to maintenance work being carried out on the roadway, which could cause traffic and delays. Federal Highways and Bridges (Capufe) reported that the closures will begin on Wednesday, February 26, affecting crucial hours for millions of workers and students who travel daily between Morelos and Mexico City on this highway.

Drivers are advised to take precautions and respect the signs at all times in light of the closure warnings on the roadways. The closures on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway will last from February 26 to March 13, and will take place from Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. During weekends, the highway will be free of maintenance work.

The reason for the closures on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway is pothole repair, aimed at eliminating potholes present in certain segments of the roadway. Although authorities have not specified the exact number of potholes to be repaired, it is expected that these efforts will allow for optimal circulation and prevent damage to vehicles.

The section closed on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway will be from kilometer 71 to 73 towards Mexico City. The work will be carried out in the middle and lower speed lanes, and partial closures will be implemented according to the progress of the pothole repair tasks.
