8M Marches in Mexico: Fight for Rights

On March 8th, marches will take place throughout Mexico to commemorate International Women's Day. Women from all backgrounds are invited to participate in peaceful events in various cities across the country, including Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara.


8M Marches in Mexico: Fight for Rights

In different states of Mexico, marches have been called to commemorate International Women's Day on March 8. For example, in Cuernavaca, Nuevo León, Colima, Durango, Jalisco, Lagos de Moreno, Michoacán, Quintana Roo, among other places, calls will be made to include women with disabilities and diverse individuals.

In Nuevo León, the gathering will be at the Colegio Civil esplanade in Monterrey at 4:00 PM, while in Colima, the meeting will be at the Plaza de los Desaparecidos at 4:00 PM. In Durango, the assembly "Women Who Fight for Women" will hold a demonstration.

In Jalisco, the collective "I Go March 8" calls for a march from the La Minerva Glorieta to the Plaza Liberación in Guadalajara at 5:00 PM. In Quintana Roo, in Playa del Carmen, there will be a call to march between Fifth Avenue and CTM, and in Tapachula, the meeting will be at the CEDECO, Railway Station at 1:00 PM.

In Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, an inclusive march is called, with meeting points at the Benito Juárez Monument at 2:00 PM, as well as at Victoria Park at 4:00 PM. In Xalapa, Veracruz, the march will start from Lázaro Cárdenas, under the bridge between Graciano and Rafael Valenzuela at 12:00 PM.

In Saltillo, Coahuila, a peaceful march has also been called with a meeting point at Mejorada Park at 5:00 PM. In Morelos, the meeting for the 8M march will be at Estrella Park at 3:00 PM. In Veracruz, the Marea Verde - Altas Montañas invites to the demonstration in Orizaba at 4:00 PM.

In Puebla, feminist collectives will hold a march from El Gallito, Paseo Bravo to the Zócalo of Puebla at 1:00 PM. In Guerrero, in Chilpancingo, the gathering will be at the Granados Maldonado alameda at 3:00 PM. In Hidalgo, Guerreras Moradas calls for a demonstration in Pachuca.

In various parts of the country, calls have been organized to make visible the struggles for women's rights in the context of International Women's Day. The demonstrations aim to advocate for inclusion, diversity, and gender equality, as well as for the end of machismo violence and discrimination.
