On Saturday afternoon in the Coyoacán borough of Mexico City, a public transport truck caught fire at the intersection of Miguel Ángel de Quevedo Avenue and Moctezuma Street. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident. The vehicle had been parked since the day before the incident, and the fire started in the front, quickly spreading to consume the entire truck.
Local media reported that the intensity of the fire caused concern among nearby residents, as the flames spread towards the trees and jacarandas in the area. The Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection reported that emergency services promptly arrived at the scene to address the situation.
The Heroic Fire Department of Mexico City worked to extinguish the fire and carried out cooling actions to prevent the flames from re-igniting. Although there were no injuries, the incident caused partial traffic disruptions in the area, leading to complications in circulation and requiring the management of vehicular flow.
Although videos of the fire circulated on social media, highlighting the magnitude of the blaze that completely consumed the truck, authorities have not yet determined the exact causes that led to the fire.
