In Santa Martha Acatitla, in the Iztapalapa borough, members of the Auxiliary Police of the Secretary of Citizen Security arrested a man wearing a charro suit who was in possession of a short firearm during a local fair.
The agents noticed the suspect's presence while patrolling the streets Yucatán and Francisco I. Madero during a festivity in the Pueblo de Santa Martha Acatitla. Upon observing that the man was handling an object resembling a firearm, they decided to intervene to ensure the safety of the attendees.
After a brief chase, the individual was intercepted and subjected to a security check. During the procedure, a short firearm, six useful cartridges, and a holster were seized. As he could not justify the legal possession of the weapon, a detention was carried out on the 42-year-old subject.
The detainee was informed of his rights and, along with the seized items, was handed over to the corresponding Public Prosecutor's agent to determine his legal situation and continue with the pertinent investigations. It is noteworthy that during the arrest, the man attempted to bribe the officers by offering them a sum of money to avoid being taken before the prosecutorial authorities.
