
The series "El Gallo de Oro," starring Lucero and José Ron, premiered on Monday, March 3rd. The story, based on Juan Rulfo's novel, follows the life of Dionisio Pinzón (played by José Ron), a humble town crier whose life takes a turn when he meets a famous fair singer known as La Caponera (Lucero). The production by W Estudios features outstanding performances from Alejandro Ávila, Luis Felipe Tovar, Adriana Williams, María Aura, and Alberto Estrella, among others.
In the first episode of "El Gallo de Oro," the main characters are introduced. Bernarda Cutiño (La Caponera) is imprisoned for refusing to fulfill a man's whims, while Dionisio, who wants to earn money to enter the cockfighting business, is robbed by the mayor's son. When he tries to report the theft, Dionisio is enchanted by hearing La Caponera sing and, later, is forced to ask for help to rescue her after she is kidnapped, despite his fear of being touched.
