New Trolebús Elevado Project Announced

Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez shared on her social media a tour carried out alongside President Claudia Sheinbaum and Head of Government Clara Brugada, to supervise the progress of the Chalco-Santa Martha Elevated Trolleybus, an important project aimed at improving mobility between the eastern part of the State of Mexico and Mexico City.

The Chalco-Santa Martha Elevated Trolleybus will be a major work that will benefit more than three million residents in the eastern zone of the State of Mexico. It is a modern mass transportation system with a length of 18.5 kilometers, designed to be environmentally friendly. This mobility infrastructure will connect the municipalities of Valle de Chalco Solidaridad, Chalco, La Paz in the State of Mexico and the Iztapalapa borough in Mexico City.

It is expected that the Trolleybus will serve around 120,000 daily users, significantly reducing travel times in the area from 2 hours to 45 minutes, or even to 33 minutes in express service. In its final stage, it is estimated to serve 230,000 users daily, notably improving mobility in the region.

Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez emphasized the importance of this work by stating: "With #ThePowerToServe we work to meet the needs of the citizenry and promote the well-being of the population," thus demonstrating the commitment to improve the quality of life for the residents of the area.
