After 18 years of absence, actress Angélica Rivera returns to telenovelas with a new version of the Colombian telenovela 'Señora Isabel.' The series, titled 'Con esa misma mirada,' will consist of 24 episodes divided into three seasons and will premiere on March 21 via Vix Premium. Besides Rivera, the cast will include Iván Sánchez, Diego Klein, Blanca Guerra, Juan Ríos, Nicolás Haza, Ivana Castro, and Sofía Castro, who plays the daughter of the protagonist, as in real life.
During an event attended by Publimetro, some of the most intense scenes of the plot were presented, including steamy moments. Angélica Rivera expressed her gratitude to Televisa Univisión and Epigmenio Ibarra for the opportunity to return to melodramas after almost two decades. In a press conference moderated by Televisa Espectáculos director Mara Patricia Castañeda, the actress confirmed that in the fiction her character will have a romance with Diego Klein's character, who is also part of the cast.
“Yes, there is a romance in the fiction,” Rivera responded when asked about the relationship between their characters. She avoided political topics, which she would address at another time, and preferred to focus on the presentation of the series, which was also attended by communicators Maxine Woodside and Álvaro Cueva.
Based on the Colombian telenovela 'Señora Isabel' written by Bernardo Romero, 'Con esa misma mirada' is a story that has had multiple adaptations over the years. The most well-known Mexican version was titled 'Mirada de Mujer' and premiered in 1997 with Angélica Aragón as the protagonist. Other adaptations include 'Victoria' in 2007 with Victoria Rufo, 'Si nos dejan' from Televisa Univisión, and the currently airing 'Ana de nadie' from Televisión Azteca of Colombian origin.
