According to the data provided by the Mexican Council of the Meeting Industry (Comir), business tourism is expected to increase by at least 9% by the year 2025. This trend is due to the return of organizations to in-person models to establish relationships with potential partners and create bonds between different locations, especially in the case of multinationals practicing nearshoring.
In line with this trend, on March 10, Aerus, the airline from La Sultana del Norte, inaugurated the San Luis Potosí - Mexico City route. The opening ceremony was attended by prominent leaders from the airport and infrastructure sector, including Javier Herrera García, general director of Aerus; Miguel Legorreta, commercial director of the airline; Seidy Salvador, commander of the AFAC; and Isidoro Pastor Román, director of the AIFA.
"We are excited to offer a direct connection between San Luis Potosí and Mexico City. Not only do we improve accessibility for our passengers, but we also create a bridge that will boost business opportunities and tourism in both cities," expressed Javier Herrera García.
With a frequency of one daily flight, this new connection is expected to strengthen commercial relationships and increase the number of daily departures. The initiative aims to promote economic development in the main industries of the country by providing regional transportation alternatives.
Participation in trade fairs and exhibitions represents a strategic investment for companies looking to expand their presence in the market. These events provide a conducive environment for effective networking, face-to-face meetings with potential clients, suppliers, and strategic partners in a short period of time. Additionally, they allow companies to monitor sector trends and analyze competitors' strategies directly.
The new air connectivity between San Luis Potosí and Mexico City will facilitate regional entrepreneurs' attendance at trade events in the capital, while also allowing city investors to discover opportunities in the thriving industrial region of the Bajío.
