Ximena Sariñana Revives 'Amarte Duele' Soundtrack

The singer and actress Ximena Sariñana has made the decision to re-record and release on streaming platforms the iconic songs from the movie 'Amarte Duele', in which she participated 20 years ago as the antagonist and also contributed with her music. During an interview, Ximena recalled that she composed those songs when she was only 15 years old, marking her first steps in songwriting.

The songs that Ximena recorded for the movie were initially released in physical format when compact discs were the main way to listen to music. Although other bands were able to reinterpret their compositions, Ximena had never had the opportunity to do the same until now, determined to revive those pieces and give them a new life.

On March 12, 2025, the re-recorded songs became available on digital platforms, receiving a warm welcome from fans of the movie and the singer. Tracks like 'Cuento', 'Las huellas', and 'Mañana no es hoy' are part of this new version cherished by many followers.

Ximena Sariñana's initiative to re-record these songs arose from the constant inquiries from her followers on social media about the absence of these melodies on streaming platforms. Together with her producer, Patricio Dávila, they contacted the original producer of the tracks, who retrieved the songs from his personal archive of compact discs to achieve this new version.

At only 15 years old, Ximena participated in the creation of the soundtrack for 'Amarte Duele', which connected her deeply with the nostalgia of a generation that grew up with the movie and the music. This film, which tells a complicated romance between young people from different social strata, became an icon of Mexican pop culture thanks to its emotional plot and its soundtrack featuring artists like Natalia Lafourcade, Kinky, Zoé, Volován, and the young Ximena Sariñana.

Despite the technological challenges of the time, Ximena mentioned that recreating the original sound was a challenge, along with the difficulty of finding the original recordings of the songs. Today, thanks to digital platforms, it is possible to relive and enjoy again these songs that marked an era and left a mark in the memory of many.
