The Guachimontones Interpretive Center, located in the municipality of Teuchitlán, Jalisco, will maintain its regular schedule from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, as announced by Marcelo Aguirre from the educational department. The events scheduled for the equinox, which were usually organized in conjunction with the municipality, have been canceled. This decision was made in solidarity with those affected by the recent events at the Izaguirre ranch.
Despite the cancellation of the special events, the site will remain open to receive visitors. Visitors will be allowed to conduct their own ceremonies, provided they follow the rules established by the INAH, such as not lighting fires, bringing pets, or drones.
The cultural week that usually takes place at the Guachimontones Interpretive Center to celebrate spring will not include dances, ball games, or other special activities this year. Those wishing to perform seed or flower offering ceremonies may do so individually, keeping in mind that there will be no mass events.
The entrance fee to the site remains at 30 pesos for adults, 15 pesos for students and teachers, and free for seniors with an INAPAM credential and children under 12. This includes access to all services of the Guachimontones Interpretive Center.
Holy Week is one of the busiest seasons at the site, so it is expected to remain open during that period. For more details on hours and closures, it is recommended to check the notifications on the official page of the Guachimontones Interpretive Center.
