The Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) of Mexico City has announced the first edition of the Neni Fest 2025 on April 2, aimed at promoting and highlighting the economic and social impact of New Entrepreneurs with Internet Businesses (Nenis). This event seeks to establish collaboration networks among women entrepreneurs and the local government. The Neni Fest will be held free of charge at the Yancuic Museum, located next to the Constitución de 1917 metro and cable car station in the Iztapalapa borough, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and more than 2,000 participants are expected to attend.
The head of Sedeco, Manola Zabalza, mentioned that during the event, contests and free training sessions will be provided by various companies such as CLIP, Mercado Pago, Ali Express Clip, Ilusión, Met Life Seguros, AMFE Tala, AIDA, Finsus, Spin, AMJE INJUVEM, Mastercard, among others.
According to data from INEGI, Mexico City has more than 80,000 Nenis, ranking third nationally after Jalisco and the State of Mexico. These women, mostly aged between 20 and 54, generate around 520 million pesos in annual income and represent 6.7% of total online sales in the country. It is important to highlight that 7 out of 10 Nenis financially support at least one more person, underscoring the need to strengthen the growth and professionalization of their commercial activities.
