
During a family party at a "Las Jardineras de Wendy" palapa, located in the Parrilla 1 neighborhood on the outskirts of Villahermosa, Tabasco, an armed attack resulted in six fatalities, including a 16-year-old adolescent who was the honoree. Additionally, at least nine people were injured, one of whom later died in the Gustavo A. Rovirosa hospital, raising the death toll to six.
Eyewitnesses reported that five armed men got out of a white vehicle and began shooting directly at the party attendees. After the attack, the assailants fled the scene. Authorities such as the National Guard, the Mexican Army, the State Police, and investigative agents deployed an operation in the area. Forensic experts from the State Attorney General's Office conducted the removal of the bodies and began the relevant investigations.
So far, there have been no reports of arrests, nor has the motive behind the violent attack been clarified. The celebration was taking place as part of a pool party to celebrate a birthday, with around 40 people present when the incident occurred, around 9:00 PM on Friday.
