Meta and EssilorLuxottica have launched the new Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in Mexico, which promise to revolutionize the way we interact daily with artificial intelligence. These glasses, available in various stores across the country, have generated great excitement after selling two million units worldwide since 2023. The pre-sale of Ray-Ban Meta started on May 1, with general sales scheduled to begin on May 19. These glasses have an initial price of six thousand 399 pesos, marking the debut of the first glasses with integrated AI in Latin America.
Ray-Ban Meta combines the brand's renowned design with advanced features, including a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera for 1080p photos and videos, open-ear speakers with noise reduction, and five microphones that facilitate calls and voice commands. The voice activation feature "Hey Meta" allows users to access Meta AI for real-time answers, such as translations or recipe suggestions based on available ingredients.
In the near future, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are expected to launch a live translation feature, enabling smooth conversations in Spanish, English, French, and Italian, even without a connection if language packs are downloaded. The collection includes models such as Wayfarer, Wayfarer Large, and the new Skyler, available in a variety of colors like Shiny Chalky Grey.
These glasses are compatible with different types of lenses, such as prescription, polarized, clear, or transitions, offering options to suit each visual need. Users can livestream on platforms like Instagram or Facebook for up to 30 minutes, switching between cameras hands-free, which is ideal for content creators. Additionally, the Meta View app, available on iOS and Android, will allow users to edit photos, videos, and manage their devices, complementing the experience of using Ray-Ban Meta.
