
The governor of the state of Oaxaca, engineer Salomón Jara Cruz, has provided a great opportunity for Saymi Pineda Velasco, the Secretary of Tourism of Oaxaca, to share the achievements obtained at the binational Tianguis Turístico. Pineda Velasco highlighted Oaxaca's outstanding participation in the event, attributing success to the teamwork of service providers and municipal presidents from tourist areas.
During this edition of the Tianguis Turístico, Oaxaca positioned itself as an attractive destination for summer, highlighting its vibrant culture, diverse towns, unique gastronomy, and emblematic celebrations, such as the Guelaguetza. The state managed to capture the attention of the public with exhibitions of handicrafts, cultural promotion, and tourist activations.
Oaxaca had a significant presence at the binational Tianguis Turístico, being the invited state of honor. With 49 business spaces and an area of 432 square meters, Oaxaca stood out for its tourist and cultural products. Additionally, it became one of the seven entities selected to participate in the National Community Tourism Plan.
The Secretary of Tourism of Oaxaca mentioned the state's commitment to promoting community tourism and sustainable development in different regions. She highlighted successful cases such as the communal towns in the Sierra Juárez and the Ventanilla project in the coastal region, emphasizing the importance of collaborative work and support for local initiatives.
Regarding future tourist activities, Oaxaca plans to celebrate events such as the Day of the Dead in November and December festivities, including the traditional Night of the Radishes. Improved air connectivity is expected with new flights, such as the agreement signed with United Airlines for a Dallas–Puerto Escondido flight.
The promotional work done at the binational Tianguis Turístico strengthened Oaxaca's image as a tourist and cultural destination. Through handicraft exhibitions, gastronomic tastings, cultural activations, and live performances, the state managed to attract the attention of national and international visitors, generating business opportunities and promoting its tourist attractions.
