An attack on a bar in Nuevo León, carried out early Saturday by armed men, left three women dead and six men injured, state authorities reported. The State Attorney General's Office confirmed that the incident was reported around 03:00 local time (09:00 GMT) at a business called the restaurant-bar 'El Ovni 2,' located in the municipality of Juárez, in the metropolitan area of the city. The State Investigations Agency (AEI) reported that the three women died in different clinics to which they were taken after the attack. The fatal victims were identified as Lucero 'N', 22; Abril 'N', 20; and Yajaira 'N', 18. Meanwhile, the six men with bullet wounds were taken to the General Hospital of Juárez for medical attention, and their health status is currently unknown. According to local reports, the attackers entered the establishment and began shooting indiscriminately at the patrons. State prosecutors' detectives collected various long firearm casings at the scene, and according to the agency, AEI detectives assigned to the Homicide Investigation Unit have initiated the inquiry 'with a gender perspective.' According to figures from the State Attorney General's Office, from January to September of this year, 1,182 homicides have been recorded in Nuevo León, and the majority of these crimes are related to actions by organized crime.
