A Canadian woman died this Saturday following an accident while parachuting in Tequesquitengo, one of the main tourist destinations in Morelos. According to initial reports, the incident occurred shortly after noon when the tourist, approximately 40 years old, jumped from an aircraft as part of a recreational experience. The news of the accident caused consternation among tourists and residents who witnessed the deployment of emergency teams. A possible malfunction in the safety equipment would have prevented the parachute from opening properly, causing her to fall forcefully to the ground. Witnesses alerted emergency services, and paramedics arrived immediately to provide care. However, despite efforts to resuscitate her, the woman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the General Hospital of Jojutla. The incident triggered a large-scale mobilization of rescue teams and elements of the South-West Regional Prosecutor's Office, who conducted the body recovery and secured the area where the jump occurred. The state coordinator of Civil Protection, Ubaldo González, informed that a thorough inspection of the facility will be carried out, and the compliance with safety standards and equipment maintenance will be evaluated.
