Fátima Bosch from Tabasco won the 2025 Miss Universe pageant, held in Thailand. The representative of Mexico earned a special place from the preliminary stages, when she spoke out against injustice and mistreatment by organizer Nawat Itsaragrisil, president of Miss Grand International (MGI) and regional director for Asia at Miss Universe. The executive called her "silly" and disrespected her in front of her colleagues over a disagreement during the filming of promotional materials. From then on, and during this gala where she was crowned the winner, Fátima Bosch defended the need to be heard. In the final part of the competition, Fátima answered the question: "In your perspective, what are the challenges of being a woman in 2025, and how would you use the Miss Universe title to create a safe space for women?". Her answer secured her the title: "As a woman and as Miss Universe, I will put my voice and my power at the service of others, because today we are here to raise our voices, to generate change and to achieve everything, because we are women, and the brave ones who rise up are the ones who will make history." She was crowned in this red dress. This was the national costume she wore at the gala. Third place went to the Venezuelan Stephany Abasali, and second place to Praveenar Singh from Thailand.
