According to the National Seismological Service (SSN), the tremor was located 19 km southwest of San Marcos at 00:42:56 local time. The National Civil Protection Coordination has initiated the review protocol. President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reported that so far, there are no reports of damage from the preliminary magnitude 5.2 earthquake recorded at 00:42 with its epicenter in San Marcos, Guerrero. The governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz, informed that the alert was activated and that Civil Protection personnel are conducting tours to verify if there was any damage. “Take care of yourselves very much!”.
