To ensure a safe vacation period, the Government of Puebla will deploy over 4,000 elements as part of the 'Safe Holy Week 2026' operation, which will take place from March 27 to May 12. The head of the State Public Security Secretariat, Francisco Sánchez González, informed that the operation involves the coordinated participation of corporations from the three levels of government. 'The commitment is to safeguard the integrity, heritage, and tranquility of Puebla families, as well as those visiting the state during this season,' he stated. Inter-institutional coordination The operation will involve elements from the Navy Secretariat, the National Defense Secretariat, the National Guard, the State Police, and municipal corporations, who will work jointly to reinforce security. Specialized divisions such as the Tourist Police, Highway Police, and Forest Police will also be deployed, in addition to the Heroic Fire Corps. The state will have more than 291 units, 13 mobile surveillance towers installed at strategic points, and two helicopters that will expand coverage and response capacity. Attention in high-traffic zones Actions will focus mainly on places with a high concentration of people, such as shopping malls, banks, beaches, markets, and bus terminals. Likewise, surveillance will be reinforced at religious events characteristic of the season, such as the processions of Holy Friday, the transfer of the Child Doctor from Tepeaca, and the celebrations at Calvario and various churches. Through this operation, the authorities seek to prevent incidents and provide security conditions during one of the periods with the highest mobility in the entity.
