Through its official channels, the company stated: “This security system detected purchases that violate the sales rules in the United States and Canada. We have found no evidence that this has also happened in Mexico.” With this, Ticketmaster ruled out the release of new tickets for concerts in Mexican territory, which has generated various reactions among the fan community.
What irregularities did they detect?
According to the information shared by Ticketmaster in North America, the security system identified various practices that violated ticket sales policies. These include purchasing more tickets than allowed with a single card, the possible lending or misuse of memberships, and the use of automated bots to hoard tickets. These actions led to the cancellation of tickets acquired irregularly and, subsequently, to the decision to release those tickets again to fans.
In Mexico this is not going to happen 😭😭😭
The reaction comes amid a context of dissatisfaction from the ARMY fandom, which has expressed its rejection of the Ticketmaster system. This means that, unlike what happened in the United States and Canada, it is not considered necessary to carry out cancellations or release new tickets in the country. The company's stance has left many followers dissatisfied, who had expected a similar measure that would expand the chances of getting tickets.
After Ticketmaster in the United States and Canada announced the release of tickets for BTS concerts due to irregularities in the purchase process, expectations among Mexican fans grew at the possibility that the same would happen in the country. However, the ticketing company's response was clear and negative.
Fans have pointed out that the sales model would have favored resellers, making it difficult for legitimate access to tickets for the BTS concerts on May 7, 9, and 10. Protests and complaints on social media have been constant, especially after the sales processes generated frustration among thousands of users.
Despite the fans' complaints, Ticketmaster maintains that its security system has not detected similar irregularities in Mexico.
