On April 10, 2026, the Faculty of Higher Studies Iztacala was preventively evacuated after a message was detected warning about the possible presence of explosive devices within its facilities. Through an official notice, the Local Security Commission informed that, in this situation, the established emergency protocols were activated, prioritizing the integrity of the university community. Protocols were activated and the facilities were evacuated. According to the communiqué, the evacuation was carried out as a preventive measure while a thorough review is being carried out at the campus to rule out any risk. Authorities indicated that the decision was made with the aim of safeguarding students, teachers, and administrative staff, while specialists carry out the corresponding inspections. Once the review is completed, the situation and the measures to be taken will be reported in a timely manner.
