Basic level students in Mexico are about to enjoy several days of rest in November, according to the confirmation from the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP). The 2024-2025 school calendar establishes that preschool, primary, and secondary students will have three consecutive long weekends, providing an opportunity to recharge before the winter holidays.
In November, the key days for class suspension are as follows: Monday, November 18, in commemoration of the Mexican Revolution, established as an official holiday by the Federal Labor Law. Evaluations will be delivered to parents during the last week of the month. On Friday, November 29, there will be a meeting of the School Technical Council and an Intensive Training Workshop for Teachers. Although the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution is on November 20, the suspension is moved to Monday, allowing for a long weekend for students. Additionally, on Friday, November 22, teachers must record students' grades, which means a no-class day for students.
The School Technical Council (CTE) is a gathering body that groups the educational community of a basic level school. Its main objective is to make decisions related to the technical and pedagogical field, in order to improve students' learning outcomes. These sessions are held before the school year begins and also on the last Friday of each month, with the participation of the principal and all teaching staff of the institution.
