Chaos on Line 3 of the Cablebus in Mexico

Line 3 of the Cablebus in Santa Fe has generated long waits for passengers, especially on weekends, with tourists and locals waiting up to an hour and a half. Although it is considered a good mode of transportation, users face congestion and unfinished work at several stations. The situation is complicated by the high flow of visitors to Chapultepec Forest and its cultural sites.

Chaos on Line 3 of the Cablebus in Mexico

Line 3 of the Cablebus, which connects Constituyentes with Vasco de Quiroga in Mexico City, has caused chaos in transportation to the Pueblo of Santa Fe. The connection with the fourth section of Chapultepec Forest means that on weekends, residents and tourists wait up to an hour and a half to board one of the 71 available cabins.

A tour by Publimetro confirmed that on Saturdays and Sundays, the wait to board the Cablebus can exceed one hour, which is difficult for users who have to wait outside the Los Pinos - Constituyentes terminal. Gabriela, a resident, mentioned that although the Cablebus is a good transportation option, the waits are long on weekends. She prefers to endure the wait rather than travel on buses from the contracted public transport.

The connection of Line 3 of the Cablebus with cultural nodes has attracted locals and tourists to the fourth section of Chapultepec Forest. Destinations such as the Cineteca Nacional, the former Gunpowder Factory, and the Environmental Culture Center are some of the most visited points. At the Cineteca Chapultepec station in particular, crowds to board the cabins are common, especially in the mornings and afternoons.

Despite the demand, Line 3 of the Cablebus transports 36,000 passengers daily, according to data from the Government of Mexico City. However, the project is not yet complete, and the installation of elevators and general furnishings is still underway at several stations. The works are expected to conclude in November to offer an optimal service that efficiently connects Constituyentes with Pueblo de Santa Fe in just 22 minutes.
