Wiplash Establishes Itself with Its Third Album

The Mexican group Wiplash has released their third album, titled Wiplash, which represents a process of musical and personal growth for the band. This new work is considered more authentic and mature as it encompasses all the musical influences of the members.

The band's vocalist, Jota Moore, explained that for the creation of this album, they worked on 90 demos before finally selecting 12 songs that capture the essence of the group. They focused on ensuring that each song had a unique identity and steered clear of any repetition of sound.

Moore emphasized the importance of maintaining musical integrity and not seeking awards, although he values the recognition of their work. He stressed that sincerity and fidelity to their art is the priority, rather than following trends or fleeting fashions in the industry.

The concept behind Wiplash, the eponymous album, is based on the duality between roses and worms, representing the idea that within the good, there is something bad and vice versa. The band focused on connecting with their true intentions when composing, prioritizing authenticity over external expectations.

Wiplash is a rock/pop project that emerged in 2020 during the pandemic, gaining prominence on social media due to its unique personality. Throughout their career, they have performed on different stages in Mexico and were nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2022 Latin Grammys. With the production of "Narvarte" in 2023, the group begins a new, more established and mature phase in their artistic career.

Currently, Wiplash consists of Jota Moore on vocals, Daniel Gal on bass, Diego Moguel on guitar, and "Smoke" on drums. The band continues to bet on their unique and authentic sound, seeking to convey a message of balance between the positive and the negative through their music.
