In Tlalpan, a new body called the Mobility Cabinet has been established to provide immediate and efficient solutions to traffic problems. It has started in areas of high congestion, such as Picacho-Ajusco, where operations have already been carried out in collaboration with Six Flags Mexico.
Mayor Osorio has highlighted that this cabinet will facilitate direct citizen participation in decision-making and planning key projects to transform mobility in the region. Among the first actions undertaken are operations in the Hospital Zone and in areas with significant public transportation deficiencies.
A collaboration agreement between the Tlalpan Municipality and Six Flags Mexico aims to address vehicular traffic issues in the area adjacent to the theme park on the Picacho-Ajusco road. The main focus will be to prioritize pedestrians in the design of new mobility policies.
With the implementation of this agreement and the creation of the Mobility Cabinet, Tlalpan is moving towards the construction of a more effective, safe, and inclusive transportation system, in line with the goals of the Mexico City government to improve road infrastructure and the quality of life for residents.
Among the actions agreed upon with Six Flags Mexico are key measures focused on improving vehicle flow and strengthening road safety around the park. These include optimizing signage, relocating barriers, enhancing road safety, opening lanes, and constant communication regarding the status of parking lots.
These measures will complement traffic operations implemented by the Municipality to prevent irregular parking, a significant cause of congestion in the area. The Mobility Cabinet, led by Mayor Gaby Osorio, represents a significant advance in Tlalpan's mobility strategy.
