Chapters Meeting at CIO promoting optics

On November 14th, the Chapter Meeting will be held at the Center for Research in Optics A.C. (CIO), an event aimed at promoting optics in Mexico and fostering networking among prominent researchers and university students. The event, which will take place from 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, will feature renowned researchers such as Dr. Manuel Servín and Dr. Enrique Castro from CIO.

This Chapter Meeting intends to disseminate the wide variety of applications that optics and photonics have in fields such as health, technologies, and other areas of knowledge. From the characterization of biological tissues to thermography, communications, and information processing, optics plays a crucial role in numerous sectors.

On this occasion, there will be four presentations by both national and international researchers. Among them are Dr. Miguel Alonso, editor of a prestigious optics journal, and Dr. Robert Sewell from the Institute of Photonic Sciences and Optics (ICFO) in Spain. These experts will share their work and explore potential collaborations with CIO and others interested in the field of optics and photonics.

Saraí Domínguez Hernández, president of the Student Chapter of Optics at CIO, emphasized the importance of this event for establishing connections between students and professionals in optics and photonics at the national level. The initiative aims not only to spread knowledge in these fields but also to promote collaboration and exchange of ideas among various institutions and professionals.
