
The Secretary of Education of the state, Emanuel Garza Fishburne, assured that school activities will continue regularly, despite the celebrations related to the Day of the Dead that some schools have scheduled for next Friday, November 1.
In several states of the country, such as Yucatán, it has been decided to take Friday, November 1, as a day off, thus giving a bridge to the students who will be able to participate in the festivities related to the Day of the Dead. Educational authorities in Yucatán suspended activities from Thursday, October 31, to Monday, November 4, in order to promote the local traditions of Janal Pixan.
On the other hand, in Baja California Sur, around 150 thousand students and 10 thousand teachers will have a bridge from Friday, November 1, to Sunday, November 3, to celebrate the Day of the Dead. A significant increase in traveler influx is expected during this period, coinciding with the start of the peak season in the region's tourist destinations.
In Campeche, more than 250 thousand students will enjoy a "megabridge" from October 31 to November 4 on the occasion of All Saints' Day and Faithful Departed. The local government decided to suspend classes so that families can celebrate the region's cultural traditions.
In contrast, in Nuevo León, there will be no suspension of classes on November 1, as it is considered a working day according to the school calendar. However, cultural activities related to the Day of the Dead may take place during school hours.
Finally, in Coahuila, educational authorities ruled out the suspension of classes on November 1 and 2 due to the festivities of the Day of the Faithful Departed and the Day of the Dead, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the established school calendar.
