The Mexican musician and composer Saúl Hernández, recognized vocalist of Caifanes, received a tribute at the La Musa Awards 2024. During the ceremony, he stated: “That new, fragile space became my refuge, my place, where I dream, feel, cry, and laugh, create and grow where I inhabit. It is an honor to be here.”

With the statuette in hand, Hernández expressed his creative process: “I started composing without realizing what I was writing or why I was writing. Composing is identifying oneself to then find oneself, because at the end of this bright path, I am.”

The singer reflected on the importance of songs, highlighting that they are a bridge of experiential and existential communication, a tool for denunciation and combat. Hernández also shared his induction into The Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame during the same week that the Latin Grammy was held in Miami.

During the award ceremony, Kathy Spanberger, president of Peermusic, praised the musician for his extensive artistic career as a composer, emphasizing that he has written more than 157 songs.
