The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) of Jalisco has announced that starting this Friday, November 15, and until February of next year, routine maintenance work will be carried out on the federal highway network of the state. These activities are part of the "Bachetón" program promoted by the federal government and are designed to improve traffic conditions and mobility in the region.
The "Bachetón" program includes an investment of 85.5 million pesos for pothole repairs, leveling, weeding, cleaning of ditches, and drainage works on the extensive federal highway network of Jalisco covering 2,228 kilometers. Starting this month, work will be executed on sections of highways such as Guadalajara-Tepic, Guadalajara-Chapala, Guadalajara-Zacatecas (via Tlaltenango), among others.
The SICT has reported that contracts have already been awarded for routine maintenance work on these sections and that tenders are also being managed to intervene in other important roads such as Federal 200 (Melaque - Puerto Vallarta) and Manzanillo - Barra de Navidad, as well as sections of highways such as Guadalajara-Tepic and Jiquilpan - Colima in the coming months.
Additionally, a tender has been launched for a periodic maintenance project that includes the placement of asphalt paving to rehabilitate 47.3 kilometers in isolated sections of federal highway 80 Guadalajara - Barra de Navidad. The SICT calls on users of the federal highway network in Jalisco to respect signage and drive cautiously during the scheduled maintenance work.
