
The president of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, supervised the progress of the Trolebús Chalco-Santa Martha works, along with the head of government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, and the governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez. This project will benefit around 3 million residents in the Valley of Mexico in terms of mobility.
Governor Delfina Gómez emphasized the importance of this project to improve the mobility of people traveling between the State of Mexico and Mexico City, connecting the municipalities of Valle de Chalco, Chalco, and La Paz.
"This project is a priority for the mobility of millions of people who move between the State of Mexico and the capital of the country," shared the governor through her social networks.
The Trolebús Chalco-Santa Martha, managed by the Government of the State of Mexico, will cover 18.5 kilometers and is expected to have an initial daily demand of 120 thousand users, and later transport 230 thousand people daily.
This transportation system will improve the mobility of residents in Chalco, Valle de Chalco Solidaridad, and La Paz in the State of Mexico, as well as in the Iztapalapa municipality in Mexico City.
According to a press release, this trolebús is estimated to reduce travel times from 2 hours to 33 minutes, which will enhance social, economic, and mobility conditions in the area.
During the visit to the works, officials from the Government of the State of Mexico were present, such as the Secretary of Urban Development and Infrastructure, Carlos Maza Lara, and the Secretary of Mobility, Daniel Sibaja González, as well as authorities from the Government of Mexico, Mexico City, and project concessionaires.
