Mexican Government Launches Dengue Prevention Strategy

The Government of Mexico is working in collaboration with the United States to combat Mexican cartels, according to an official. It was emphasized that it is the responsibility of the Mexican Government to do more to address this issue. A national strategy has been presented to reduce cases of dengue in the country, which includes providing assistance to migrants, reception in border states, and reintegration.

Regarding the repatriation program for migrants, called 'Mexico Embraces You', it was explained that it seeks to welcome migrants with humanity and the participation of the entire Government. The importance of cooperation from the population to carry out this strategy was emphasized. Additionally, work is being done on a dengue vaccine, as Mexico ranks third in infections in America.

Free cataract surgeries, under the program 'See for Mexico', aim to assist elderly individuals, the population most affected by this condition in the country. President Claudia Sheinbaum has responded to the decrees signed by Trump, assuring that actions will be taken in defense of sovereignty and within the framework of the laws. Actions have been implemented to provide medical care to migrants and enroll them in IMSS, in addition to establishing a review of the USMCA in 2026. Actions to combat dengue will be carried out throughout the year, including nebulization, indoor spraying, and other preventive measures.
