Air Quality in Mexico City Declared 'Good'

On Tuesday, January 21, the air quality in Mexico City was classified as 'good', which led the CAMe not to issue environmental contingency measures. However, it is important to remember that the Hoy No Circula program is only activated in case of environmental contingency to reduce pollution levels in the capital.

For Wednesday, January 22, the vehicles that may circulate are electric and hybrid cars, as well as those with ecological license plates or exempt hologram type. All vehicles with '00' or '0' holograms, private vehicles belonging to health personnel with a valid credential, ambulances, school and staff transport vehicles, funeral processions, and funeral service transportation with a valid hologram will also be allowed.

Additionally, cars for people with disabilities that have the Permit to exempt from Hoy No Circula, public transport vehicles for passengers and tourism that comply with verification regulations, motorcycles with a valid Tourist Pass or permit from the Ministry of the Environment, and vehicles with pink, blue, yellow, and green stickers will be able to circulate.

On the other hand, Hoy No Circula will be regularly in effect in the 18 municipalities adjacent to the State of Mexico and the 16 boroughs of Mexico City, since the CAMe did not declare an environmental contingency for this day. The program will apply to vehicles with red stickers, hologram 1 or 2, and plate endings 3 and 4, from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

It is important to mention that there will be no double Hoy No Circula for this Wednesday, so the program will be carried out as established for vehicles with red stickers, hologram 1 or 2, and plate endings 3 and 4.
