The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) has announced the implementation of a digital health record aimed at children studying in public primary schools in Mexico. This measure is part of the national strategy Live Healthy, Live Happy and aims to promote health from an early age.

During the presentation of the program, ZoƩ Robledo, IMSS director, highlighted the importance of this initiative in building the future IMSS, contributing to making future generations healthier and more aware of the importance of adopting healthy habits.

Robledo mentioned that this digital health record will be unique in IMSS history and will allow parents and guardians to have a personalized health report for the children, with specific recommendations and actions to follow in case it is necessary to visit a health center.

In this same vein, the deployment of thousands of nurses in primary schools across the country was announced, with the aim of carrying out evaluations of oral health, visual acuity, and other important aspects of children's health. It is expected that nearly 11 million children will benefit from this initiative, becoming one of the largest cohorts to receive this type of attention in public schools in Mexico.

It was emphasized that technology will play a fundamental role in this process, as all the information collected in the different modules will be recorded on a platform developed by IMSS and the Agency for Digital Transformation. This digital school health record will be available to institutions and the Ministry of Health, allowing the creation of specific health policies and strategies at the regional or state level in the country.
