
After the 5.1 magnitude earthquake registered on Friday afternoon, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo informed that so far no damage has been reported in the country. The National Civil Protection Coordination mentioned that the earthquake had a final magnitude of 5.1 and occurred 12 kilometers southeast of Iguala.
Regarding the details, Civil Protection indicated that the earthquake was felt from moderate to strong in municipalities of the northern region, and more lightly in the center, Acapulco, Tierra Caliente, and Costa Grande. In Morelos, the population felt it moderately. In Mexico City, the earthquake was perceived as light to moderate in Tlalpan, Iztapalapa, Xochimilco, Coyoacán, and Magdalena Contreras.
The president mentioned that evaluations continue to assess possible damage caused by the earthquake. In Sheinbaum Pardo's words: 'The report indicates that there is no damage from the 5.1 magnitude earthquake southeast of Iguala, Guerrero, registered at 13:39 hours this Friday. Monitoring continues.'
