The municipality of Escobedo presented this Sunday Escopet-ID, an innovative QR code that provides safety for pets by delivering vital information about the companion animal. Mayor Andrés Mijes, along with Wendy Briones, director of Animal Protection and Welfare, introduced this new digital tool aimed at innovating responsible pet ownership.
Mijes emphasized that Escobedo has been transforming citizen attention through the use of new technologies and that pets should also be part of this progress. A hologram was designed to be hung on pets' collars, allowing access to the address and phone numbers of Animal Protection in case of loss, thus facilitating their prompt reunion with their owners.
EscoPet-ID consists of a plate with a QR code that contains priority data, such as the pet's name, temperament, and personality, as well as providing immediate protection and welfare information from Escobedo. This plate also streamlines medical appointments, as the Municipal Veterinary Clinic will have direct access to the pet's clinical history and other relevant data.
The QR code of Escopet-ID becomes an essential tool for identifying lost pets and facilitating their prompt reunion with their owners. To obtain this plate, interested parties must go directly to the facilities of Animal Protection and Welfare to initiate the process, at a cost of 75 pesos.
