Recently, complaints have been made regarding the quality of service of the Metro of Mexico City, as well as the lack of clear information from the authorities. During an incident at the Pantitlán station, passengers were guided towards the tunnel of line 9, which was not part of the usual subway route, causing confusion and discomfort among users.
Metro authorities called on passengers to follow the staff's instructions and allow the proper closing of train doors in order to avoid further delays in service. Starting at 6:00 PM, failures were reported that caused long delays, leading to inconvenience for regular users of this daily route.
The setback originated due to a review of the tracks at Pantitlán station, which stopped train circulation in both directions and caused delays of up to 40 minutes. The incident occurred before rush hour, increasing passenger demand and complicating the situation.
Images and videos shared on social networks showed Metro staff going down to the tracks at the Pantitlán terminal, interrupting service and causing confusion among passengers. Some users reported being stuck for over an hour, which increased frustration among the thousands of people who depend on this line for transportation.
Following the repercussions of the incident, the Metro issued a statement through its digital platforms explaining that the review of the tracks at Pantitlán station had caused a reduction in train speed, interrupting service on certain sections. Despite this message, uncertainty persists among users.
Line 9 of the Metro of Mexico City has experienced interruptions not only on this occasion but also the previous day. This has generated widespread discontent among users, who have expressed their dissatisfaction with the recurring problems that this line faces. Although authorities are committed to regularizing the service and reducing congestion at the most affected stations, challenges remain in the metropolitan transportation system.
