The governor of Puebla, Alejandro Armenta Mier, issued a public apology to the women of Puebla for the "abuses and omissions" committed in previous administrations to the detriment of women and girls. In the context of the mobilizations for International Women's Day, Armenta Mier published a letter addressed to the women of Puebla in which he recognized the historical debt that persists toward them and reaffirmed his commitment to guarantee their legitimate rights.
During his first 85 days in office, the governor emphasized that efforts have been made to respect women and create optimal conditions for their development. Among the concrete actions implemented so far are gender parity in his cabinet, with a majority presence of young women, the installation of 6 Carmen Serdán houses aimed at providing services to women and preventing violence, and the creation of 25 LIBRE centers for women in different regions of the state.
In addition, 120 municipal women's agencies were ratified, the Training Route and Equality Days were launched, and 300 women’s networks called "Weavers of the Homeland" were formed to promote the right to care and foster peacebuilding. Armenta Mier emphasized his desire for women in Puebla to live with strength, dignity, happiness, and hope, without fear for the present and the future.
In the context of the commemorations on March 8, nearly 15 feminist collectives participated in the Mega March on 8M for International Women's Day. During the march, justice was demanded for women suffering from violence, femicides were denounced, women's rights were advocated for, and calls were made for the missing.
