This morning, in the San Juan de Aragón neighborhood, Gustavo A. Madero municipality, a man attempted to take a 12-year-old boy amid a custody conflict for the minor. The situation was alerted by the screams of a grandmother who was accompanying the boy to school, leading to the intervention of nearby passersby.
The boy's mother, present at the scene, informed the police that she was in the process of obtaining legal custody of her son and requested that her ex-partner be removed to avoid problems. A video shared on social media shows how some citizens detained the man, even hitting him on the head.
The Secretary of Citizen Security reported that the incident occurred at the corner of 1521 Street and 414-A Avenue. Several witnesses indicated that the man was trying to take the boy without maternal authorization, which triggered the reaction of the family and passersby present at the scene.
Police officers intervened to contain the situation and protect the 37-year-old man, who was being physically assaulted. Additionally, he was advised to leave the place and file a complaint for the injuries suffered if he deemed it necessary.
