Virginia Garay Cázarez, head of the civil association Guerreras en Busca de Nuestros Tesoros de Nayarit, revealed that the families of the disappeared from Nayarit plan to head to the ranch in Tehuchitlán, Jalisco, where traces have been found that could be related to their loved ones. Despite their determination, Garay Cázarez alerted about telephone threats received to dissuade their presence at the site.

"We have received threats where they tell us that if we go, they will be waiting for us at the site in an intimidating manner," she pointed out in an interview. She emphasized the importance of supervising the search efforts to ensure transparency from the authorities and avoid the loss of clues. Although the National Search Commission and the Jalisco Search Commission had announced their support, she assured that they have not yet received details about access to the site.

Regarding the discoveries at the site, Garay Cázarez mentioned that the finding of clothing items, belongings, and fragmented human remains has generated anxiety among families. Some people claim to recognize certain clothes, but verification is crucial due to the possibility of clothing exchanges between missing persons or their captors.

Furthermore, the activist highlighted the disturbing presence of hundreds of shoes and other remains at the site as evidence of the seriousness of the problem. She criticized the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office for denying the existence of ovens in the area and expressed her frustration at the authorities' strategies to discredit her findings.

Garay Cázarez advocated for the reactivation of the National Search System and the National Search Council to closely oversee these cases. She emphasized the need to ensure active participation of families in the search efforts and the transparency of the authorities to prevent information manipulation and the loss of evidence.
